Calendar sync not working

Reconnect Google, check permissions, or trigger a manual sync.

If calendar sync has stopped working or shows an error, follow these steps to get it back on track.

Step 1: Check the status

Go to Settings > Calendar Sync and check the status indicator:

  • Green (Connected) — Sync is working. If events aren't appearing, the issue may be elsewhere (see "Events not showing up")
  • Yellow (Syncing) — A sync is in progress. Wait a moment
  • Red (Error) — There's a connection problem. Continue to Step 2

Step 2: Try a manual sync

Tap the sync button on the Calendar Sync page. This forces an immediate sync attempt. If it succeeds, the error should clear.

Step 3: Disconnect and reconnect

  1. Tap Disconnect on the Calendar Sync page
  2. Wait a few seconds
  3. Tap Connect Google Calendar
  4. Sign in with your Google account and authorize access again

This refreshes the connection and usually resolves sync problems.

Step 4: Check Google permissions

If reconnecting doesn't help, verify that Park Bench still has permission in your Google account:

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions
  2. Look for Park Bench in the list
  3. If it's not there, connect again from Park Bench

Common causes

  • Connection expired — Your Google connection can expire after extended periods. Reconnecting fixes this
  • Revoked access — You may have removed Park Bench's access from your Google account settings
  • Network issue — Temporary connectivity problems between the apps
