Troubleshooting Google sync
Common sync issues: events not appearing, duplicates, and delays.
Last updated 2026-02-25
If Google Calendar sync isn't working as expected, here are the most common issues and how to fix them.
Events not appearing
Wait a moment. Sync can take up to 5 minutes for changes to propagate. Try a manual sync from Settings > Calendar Sync by tapping the sync button.
Check that sync is connected. Go to Settings > Calendar Sync and verify the status shows "Connected" with a green dot. If it shows an error, try disconnecting and reconnecting.
Check the right calendar. Park Bench syncs from your primary Google Calendar. Events on secondary or shared Google Calendars won't appear.
Duplicate events
If you see the same event twice, it's usually because the event was created in both Park Bench and Google Calendar around the same time. Delete one of the duplicates — the remaining one will stay synced.
Events synced from Google look wrong
If times seem off, it's likely a timezone issue. Park Bench uses your family's timezone (set during onboarding, defaults to Eastern Time). Make sure your Google Calendar timezone matches.
Sync stopped working
- Go to Settings > Calendar Sync
- Tap Disconnect
- Wait a few seconds, then tap Connect Google Calendar again
- Sign in and re-authorize access
This refreshes the connection and usually resolves sync problems.
