Google Calendar permissions
What we access on your Google account and why.
Last updated 2026-02-25
When you connect Google Calendar, Park Bench requests specific permissions. Here's exactly what we access and why.
What we request
Read and write access to your Google Calendar events — This lets us:
- Pull your existing events into Park Bench
- Push Park Bench events to your Google Calendar
- Keep both calendars in sync when events are added, edited, or deleted
What we do NOT access
- Your email (Gmail)
- Your contacts
- Your Google Drive files
- Your Google Photos
- Your location history
- Any other Google service
We request the minimum permissions needed for calendar sync — nothing more.
How we use the access
- Your Google connection credentials are stored securely and used only for calendar sync
- We access your primary calendar only — not shared or secondary calendars
- Sync happens automatically whenever changes are made in either app
Revoking access
You can revoke Park Bench's access to your Google Calendar at any time:
From Park Bench:
- Go to Settings > Calendar Sync
- Tap Disconnect
From Google:
- Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Find Park Bench in the list
- Click Remove access
Either method stops sync immediately.
