Joining as a co-parent
How to use an invite code to join an existing family.
Last updated 2026-02-25
If your co-parent already uses Park Bench and sent you an invite code, here's how to join their family.
Using an invite code
- Your co-parent sends you an invite link or code (format: PB-XXXX)
- Open the link in your browser, or go to Park Bench and enter the code
- Create an account if you don't have one (or sign in if you do)
- You'll be automatically added to their family with the parent role
What happens when you join
- You skip the full onboarding — no need to set up family name, children, or schools (your co-parent already did this)
- You immediately see the shared family calendar with all events
- You can add, edit, and delete events just like the family owner
- You get your own chat assistant conversations, but they share the same calendar
- You can access Discover recommendations personalized for the family
If you already had a Park Bench account
If you previously signed up and created your own family, joining via invite code will move you to your co-parent's family. Your previous family data won't carry over — you're joining their existing household.
Tips
- Invite codes can only be used once
- If you have trouble with a code, ask your co-parent to check Settings > Family for the invite status
- Both parents see the same calendar and children, but have separate chat conversations
