Events not showing up

Sync delays, timezone issues, and filter settings.

Last updated 2026-02-25

If events you expect to see aren't appearing on your calendar, here are the common causes.

Sync delay

If you recently added an event in Google Calendar, it may take up to 5 minutes to appear in Park Bench. Try a manual sync from Settings > Calendar Sync.

Google Calendar not connected

Check Settings > Calendar Sync to make sure Google Calendar shows "Connected" with a green status dot. If it's disconnected, reconnect it.

Wrong calendar in Google

Park Bench syncs your primary Google Calendar only. Events on secondary calendars, shared calendars, or "Other calendars" in Google won't appear.

Timezone mismatch

Park Bench uses your family's timezone (defaults to Eastern Time). If events appear at the wrong time, it may be a timezone discrepancy between Park Bench and Google Calendar. Both should be set to the same timezone.

Events are in the past

The Home screen shows today's events and the next 7 days. Events that have already passed don't appear on the main view. Use the calendar view (tap the calendar icon on the Home header) to see past dates.

Events from the assistant

If you asked the assistant to add an event and it's not showing up, scroll back in your chat to confirm the assistant actually created it. Look for the event confirmation card. The assistant may have asked a clarifying question instead of creating the event.
