Saving & dismissing events

Add events to your calendar or dismiss ones that aren't relevant.

When you see a recommendation on the Discover tab, you have three options.

Add to calendar

Tap the calendar button to add the event to your family calendar. It shows up on your Home screen immediately and syncs to Google Calendar if connected. The card advances to the next recommendation.

Save for later

Tap the save button to bookmark the event without adding it to your calendar yet. You can find saved events in the Saved tab on the Discover page. From there, you can add them to your calendar or remove them.

Dismiss

Tap the dismiss button to hide the event. Dismissed events won't appear in future recommendations. If you dismiss by accident, an Undo option appears briefly in a toast at the bottom of the screen.

How your actions improve recommendations

Every action you take helps Park Bench learn what your family likes:

  • Adding events signals interest in that type of activity
  • Dismissing events tells the system to show fewer events like that one
  • Saving events indicates potential interest

Over time, recommendations get more tailored to your family's preferences.
